Job Description

The role of a Van Sales cum Merchandiser is a dynamic mix of sales and merchandising responsibilities aimed at maximizing company revenue and ensuring optimal product visibility in retail environments. The individual in this role is primarily responsible for managing sales initiatives through direct product delivery, replenishment, and maintenance of products at client retail sites. Additionally, they play a vital role in building strong relationships with retailers, ensuring that the company’s products are well-represented and optimally displayed. Their expertise in both sales tactics and visual merchandising is essential for driving product sales and increases in market share. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of sales and marketing strategies, and the ability to manage inventories effectively.


Responsibilities

  • Drive the sales van to deliver products to various retail locations as per the schedule.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with store management and personnel.
  • Achieve set sales targets by promoting products to store customers effectively.
  • Ensure that the van inventory is replenished and managed efficiently to meet sales volumes.
  • Organize and set up merchandise displays according to company standards and marketing strategies.
  • Monitor product stock levels within the van and stores, conducting timely replenishments.
  • Provide feedback to the sales team based on interactions and observations at retail locations.
  • Maintain sales records and prepare reports on sales performance and market feedback.
  • Coordinate with the warehouse team to ensure timely stock delivery and availability.
  • Train and inform store staff on product features and benefits to aid in promoting sales.
  • Identify opportunities for sales growth within existing and new retail accounts.
  • Maintain a clean and organized van environment to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; higher education is a plus.
  • Proven experience in sales and merchandising, preferably in the FMCG industry.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record are mandatory.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build lasting relationships.
  • Ability to lift and move merchandise within a physical retail environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
