Role – Technology Architect
Technology – Oracle Fusion Cloud – Integrations (OIC), Extensions, Data & Reporting
Location – UAE
Business Unit – Oracle Cloud
Compensation – Competitive (including bonus)
Job Description
The Technical Architect is the onsite owner of the end-to-end technical solution on an EBS-to-Oracle-Fusion-Cloud transformation programme, spanning integrations, extensions, data migration, reporting and the cloud technical landscape across both delivery phases. This hands-on leadership role calls for deep Oracle Fusion Cloud technical expertise, strong architectural judgment and the stakeholder skills to set technical standards, resolve cross-workstream design issues and protect delivery quality through every project phase, from Discovery through go-live and Hypercare.
Your role
In the role of Technical Architect, you will own the overall technical architecture of the programme and act as the primary point of contact for the client's IT, integration and infrastructure stakeholders. The client is migrating from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Fusion Cloud through a phased, dual-track delivery: Phase 1 covers HCM/UAE Payroll (~5,000 employees), Finance (GL, AP, AR, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Expenses, Tax) and PPM; Phase 2 covers Procurement, SCM, Warehouse Management and AI-enabled automation. The technical scope includes approximately 27 integrations across the two phases, a portfolio of reports of mixed complexity, data conversion from EBS and a multi-environment OCI landscape.
You will own the technical solution blueprint and integration architecture, define CEMLI and extension standards, oversee the environment and cutover technical strategy, and act as the trusted advisor to business and IT stakeholders on technical design decisions, non-functional requirements and delivery quality. You will have the opportunity to shape a robust, secure and scalable technical foundation that helps the client meet its evolving statutory, regulatory and operational needs.
Responsibilities
Solution Architecture & Technical Design
- Own the end-to-end technical solution blueprint across both phases, ensuring alignment with the functional design, committed scope and Oracle Cloud leading practices.
- Establish the target technical architecture covering integrations, extensions, reporting, data conversion, security and the OCI environment landscape.
- Lead technical design workshops and architecture review boards, translating functional requirements into technical design specifications and reference patterns.
- Make and document key architecture decisions, guiding build-versus-configure and extension-versus-out-of-the-box choices to minimize technical debt.
Integration Architecture
- Own the integration architecture and interface catalogue for the 27 programme integrations, using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and standard connectivity patterns.
- Define integration standards for error handling, logging, monitoring, security, orchestration and reprocessing, and govern their consistent application.
- Oversee inbound/outbound interfaces such as bank payment and WPS files, pension integration, and finance, HCM and supply-chain interfaces to surrounding systems.
- Validate interface designs, payload mappings and volumetrics against performance and reliability requirements.
Extensions, Reporting & Analytics
- Own the CEMLI/RICE-W inventory and the extension approach across VBCS, Visual Builder, PaaS and Fusion-native personalisation.
- Set standards for reporting and analytics using OTBI, BI Publisher and Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), ensuring traceability to business requirements.
- Guide the technical design of AI-enabled automation use cases in coordination with the AI workstream.
Data Migration & Conversion (Technical)
- Own the technical data-conversion approach in partnership with the Data Migration Lead, covering FBDI, HDL and the data-migration accelerator toolset.
- Define reconciliation, error-handling and load-orchestration standards across mock, SIT and UAT conversion cycles.
- Oversee conversion performance and validate load sequencing, dependencies and rollback approach for cutover.
Environments, DevOps & Landscape
- Own the environment and landscape strategy across Gold, SIT, UAT, Pre-Production and Production on OCI, including clone/refresh and just-in-time provisioning.
- Define migration-of-code and configuration-promotion (CEMLI/config) processes and version-control standards across environments.
- Coordinate with the client on tenancy readiness, connectivity prerequisites and third-party access.
Security, Performance & Non-Functional
- Own the technical security design, including role-based access control (RBAC), segregation-of-duties considerations and test-data controls, in partnership with the Risk & Security track.
- Define and govern non-functional requirements — performance, availability, scalability and monitoring — and lead performance/volume-testing design where required.
Technical Governance, Cutover & Hypercare
- Chair the technical design authority, enforce architecture standards and drive resolution of cross-workstream technical issues and dependencies.
- Own the technical cutover plan and runbook contributions, providing onsite leadership through go-live and the post-go-live Hypercare/warranty period.
- Support demand management and change-request assessment for technical scope and estimates.
Team & Stakeholder Management
- Lead the onsite technical team and coordinate closely with offshore integration, extension, conversion and reporting developers in a blended delivery model.
- Act as the primary technical escalation point, coordinating with the Phase Leads, functional workstream leads, Integration Lead, Data Migration Lead, PMO and the client's IT stakeholders.
- Serve as the trusted onsite advisor to the client's IT, integration and infrastructure teams, proactively identifying and resolving technical risks.
Required
- 14+ years of overall IT experience, with strong hands-on Oracle Fusion Cloud technical delivery and solution architecture.
- 3–4 full life-cycle Oracle Fusion Cloud implementations as a technical/solution architect (Discovery through Hypercare), ideally including at least one EBS/legacy-to-Fusion-Cloud migration.
- Deep expertise in Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) and integration patterns (REST/SOAP, file-based, events, orchestration), including error handling, security and monitoring.
- Strong experience with Fusion extensions and tooling — VBCS/Visual Builder, PaaS, Groovy, personalization — and with reporting via OTBI and BI Publisher.
- Hands-on knowledge of Oracle data-conversion approaches (FBDI, HDL) and conversion reconciliation for cloud programmes.
- Solid understanding of the OCI environment landscape, code/config migration, clone/refresh strategy and release management.
- Working knowledge of Fusion security (RBAC, roles/privileges, SoD) and non-functional design for performance, scalability and availability.
- A track record of managing an onsite/offshore delivery model, including technical team leadership, estimation, task planning and status reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Excellent client-facing communication and workshop-facilitation skills, with the confidence to operate independently at a client site.
Preferred
- Oracle Cloud technical / integration / OCI architecture certification(s).
- Experience across both Finance/HCM and SCM/WMS Fusion pillars on a single programme.
- Exposure to Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI) analytics and AI-enabled automation/agents.
- Experience with test-automation and data-migration accelerators (e.g., Opkey and equivalent tooling).
- Prior experience in telecom or large-enterprise transformation programmes in the UAE/GCC region, including UAE regulatory interfaces such as WPS.
Personal
Besides the professional qualifications of the candidate, we place great importance on personality profile. These include:
- An ownership mindset, comfortable working independently onsite and representing the programme’ s technical position.
- A structured problem solver who balances standardization and reuse against genuine business needs.
- High customer orientation and quality awareness in a fast-paced, workshop-driven environment.
- A collaborative leader who mentors developers and coordinates naturally across onsite and offshore teams.
