Job Description

The Supply Chain Agent is a critical role within the logistics and supply chain management field, responsible for ensuring that goods and materials are moved and stored effectively, efficiently, and cost-effectively. As a Supply Chain Agent, you will be tasked with coordinating logistics, managing inventories, and maintaining relationships with vendors and suppliers. You'll need a keen eye for detail to analyze freight costing, optimize logistical solutions, and maintain a high standard of quality control. An excellent communicator, you will negotiate contracts and terms with vendors, work closely with internal departments, and provide regular updates and reports to management. This position calls for a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of adapting to the ever-changing supply chain landscape and harnessing technology to streamline operations. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations to ensure efficient processes.
  • Manage the logistical aspects, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Develop and maintain successful relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
  • Analyze data from shipping and delivery processes to identify improvement areas.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and costs with vendors and service providers.
  • Implement and sustain supply chain solutions that improve efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure compliance with legal regulations, health, and safety standards.
  • Utilize IT systems to manage stock levels, delivery times, and transport costs.
  • Provide detailed reports and forecasts for management to inform decision-making.
  • Review or update supply chain practices in accordance with new environmental policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems.
  • Develop and maintain inventory databases to assess material status and project needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field.
  • Proven experience in supply chain or logistics management roles is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of supply chain management strategies and practices.
  • Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills are required.
  • Effective communication skills to manage vendor relationships and internal collaboration.
  • Proficiency with supply chain management software and advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
