We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Pulmonologist to join a leading healthcare facility in Sharjah, UAE.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in diagnosing, treating, and managing acute and chronic respiratory diseases, including asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), interstitial lung diseases, and complex pulmonary conditions. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent clinical judgment, a patient-centered approach, and a commitment to delivering high-quality, evidence-based respiratory care.

Key Responsibilities
      • Provide comprehensive consultation, diagnosis, treatment, and long-term management of patients with respiratory and pulmonary disorders.
      • Diagnose and manage asthma, COPD, bronchiectasis, pneumonia, interstitial lung disease, and other respiratory conditions.
      • Evaluate patients presenting with chronic cough, breathlessness, wheezing, chest discomfort, and abnormal pulmonary imaging findings.
      • Manage acute respiratory illnesses and exacerbations of chronic pulmonary diseases.
      • Assess and treat patients with pulmonary infections, pleural diseases, and respiratory complications associated with systemic illnesses.
      • Conduct and interpret pulmonary function tests (PFTs), spirometry, bronchodilator reversibility testing, and other respiratory investigations.
      • Interpret relevant diagnostic investigations, including chest X-rays, CT scans, arterial blood gas analysis, and respiratory laboratory results.
      • Perform or supervise diagnostic bronchoscopy and other pulmonary procedures, where appropriately trained and authorized.
      • Evaluate and manage patients with obstructive sleep apnea and sleep-related breathing disorders, including coordination of sleep studies and appropriate treatment.
      • Provide appropriate respiratory support, including oxygen therapy and non-invasive ventilation, within the authorized scope of practice.
      • Evaluate and manage patients with pulmonary nodules, suspected lung malignancies, and complex respiratory conditions, coordinating specialist referrals when indicated.
      • Develop individualized treatment plans based on clinical findings, diagnostic investigations, and evidence-based guidelines.
      • Monitor treatment outcomes and adjust medical management according to patient response.
      • Provide preventive respiratory care, including smoking cessation counseling, vaccination recommendations, and pulmonary rehabilitation referrals.
      • Collaborate with intensivists, cardiologists, thoracic surgeons, radiologists, respiratory therapists, and other multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.
      • Educate patients regarding respiratory disease management, inhaler techniques, medication adherence, lifestyle modification, and long-term pulmonary health.
      • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure compliance with MOHAP regulations, infection control, clinical governance, and patient-safety standards.
      • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, research, teaching, and CME activities.
Qualifications
          • MBBS/MD or equivalent recognized medical degree.
          • Recognized postgraduate qualification in Internal Medicine, followed by appropriate subspecialty training in Pulmonology / Respiratory Medicine, or an equivalent recognized pathway.
          • Board certification or equivalent recognized specialist qualification.
          • Fellowship or advanced subspecialty training in Pulmonary Medicine / Respiratory Medicine is highly desirable.
          • Minimum 3–5 years of relevant post-specialization experience in Pulmonology is preferred.
          • Strong clinical experience in managing asthma, COPD, respiratory infections, interstitial lung diseases, and complex pulmonary conditions.
          • Demonstrated competence in interpreting pulmonary function tests, respiratory imaging, and other pulmonary diagnostic investigations.
          • Experience in bronchoscopy, sleep medicine, non-invasive ventilation, or advanced pulmonary procedures is an advantage.
          • Eligible for MOHAP Specialist Pulmonology classification/license in Sharjah, subject to applicable UAE PQR qualification and experience requirements.
