Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZH) is seeking a highly skilled and patient-focused Specialist ICU to join our Critical Care team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive care to critically ill adult patients, managing complex medical conditions, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to deliver evidence-based, high-quality intensive care services while ensuring patient safety and clinical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage critically ill patients admitted to the Intensive Care Unit.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment and management plans based on clinical needs and best practices.
• Perform and supervise critical care procedures within the scope of ICU practice.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as required.
• Provide ventilator management and care for patients requiring advanced life support interventions.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, rapid response calls, and code blue situations.
• Collaborate closely with consultants, physicians, nursing teams, and allied health professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Participate in daily ICU rounds, multidisciplinary meetings, and clinical discussions.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and regulatory requirements.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs, and clinical audits within the ICU.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, clinical guidelines, and infection prevention protocols.
• Participate in continuous medical education, departmental teaching activities, and professional development programs.
  
  

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a recognized residency training program in Critical Care Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, or a related specialty.
• Specialist qualification recognized by the Department of Health (DOH) Abu Dhabi.
• Eligibility for DOH licensure or active DOH license as a Specialist.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of post-specialization experience in an Intensive Care Unit within a hospital setting.
• Demonstrated expertise in managing mechanically ventilated and critically ill patients.
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Proficiency in evidence-based critical care practices and patient-centered care.
