Job Description

The Site Foreman is a key figure in the successful completion of construction projects, responsible for managing on-site activities and staff. This role includes supervision of workers, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and facilitating communication between project managers and workers. The Site Foreman oversees operations, ensuring work is completed according to design specifications and quality standards. He/she is also tasked with maintaining project schedules and resolving issues that arise. The ability to lead a team, handle multiple tasks, and adhere to timelines is crucial. A successful Site Foreman combines technical know-how with excellent communication and leadership skills to drive project success.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of construction or extractive workers on-site.
  • Ensure that projects meet deadlines and are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Implement company safety programs and enforce adherence to safety standards on-site.
  • Review and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and designs to ensure accuracy.
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities among workers and subcontractors.
  • Inspect work progress and completed construction tasks to ensure quality standards.
  • Communicate project information clearly with team members and project managers.
  • Identify any potential hazards on the project site and take corrective action.
  • Maintain a comprehensive log of daily reports and job progress details.
  • Coordinate and schedule subcontractors' work to ensure project flow.
  • Resolve conflicts or miscommunication that may impact project results efficiently.
  • Order and manage on-site materials and resources to prevent delays.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a construction site supervisory role.
  • Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage team effectively.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills to handle various project elements.
  • Proficiency in construction management software and standard office applications.
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and ability to operate site equipment.
