Senior Manager - Geospatial

Job Description

The Senior Manager – Geospatial will lead the development and delivery of geospatial advisory services, supporting clients in digital transformation, strategic planning, data-driven decision-making, and spatial intelligence. This role combines deep technical geospatial expertise with strong consulting skills to deliver high-value solutions across infrastructure, urban development, sustainability, and government sectors.

Responsibilities

• Leading a team providing GIS and geospatial services for the Development, Planning and Urban Design team
• Driving innovation and leading the development of industry-leading, cost-effective services to our internal teams and our clients.
• Lead the development of innovative methods and spatial solutions leveraging GIS capabilities.
• Oversee a team performing data manipulation, geospatial processing, and data cleansing, ensuring compliance with established standards.
• Provide technical oversight and leadership to the team as they provide GIS mapping, analysis, data management, geoprocessing, and data visualization tasks.
• Provide technical oversight and leadership to the team in the design and development of the geospatial database. Assemble geographic datasets into an enterprise geodatabase.
• Oversight, innovation and technical leadership to teams in designing, coding, integrating, testing, and deploying custom GIS features, scripts, tools, and web applications to meet client needs.
• Prepare and coordinate work for GIS personnel based in the Middle East and abroad for both internal and external clients.
• Ensure all team outputs and geospatial documentation follow WSP’s internal QSSE standards as well as global best practice requirements.
• Provide mentorship, development and technical guidance to junior GIS staff.
• Drive the technical growth of the GIS team by sharing ideas and innovations.
• Pursue continuous professional development and stay informed about the latest GIS advancements.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• Experience in GIS domain for 10+ years, the large majority of which should have been within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
• Advanced level of proficiency and experience in ESRI-based products and open- source products.
• Extensive demonstrated experience with ArcGIS Desktop, Geodatabases, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online, Portal for ArcGIS etc
• Significant experience in configuring and developing cross-platform web applications using Web AppBuilder, Experience Builder, Operation Dashboard, and Story Map, Power BI dashboard, Tableau visualizations etc
• Understanding of relational databases and geodatabase design and development
• Experience of geospatial data processing and analysis with Python using ArcPy or open-source libraries.
• Demonstrated experience in identifying innovative solutions to problems and driving the development of the solutions
• Proactive approach to developing new skills and keeping up to date with technology.
• Experience in creating support documentation relating to best practices, SOP, and user guides.
• Good Knowledge of open-source GIS such as QGIS, OpenLayers, GeoServer,
• Knowledge and experience of UAE, KSA and wider GCC authority data standards and their submission requirements
