A Senior Employee Relations Officer plays a pivotal role within an organization, acting as a bridge between the workforce and management. This position requires a strategic mind to handle complex employee relations issues, reduce organizational risks, and improve overall employee morale. With a focus on ensuring compliance with labor laws and company policies, the Senior Employee Relations Officer develops strategies to foster a positive work environment. You will provide expert counsel to senior leaders and HR, driving initiatives that support employee engagement and conflict resolution. This role requires exceptional communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a detailed understanding of HR practices and legislation.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement employee relations strategies that align with organizational goals.
  • Advise management on effective resolution of employee relations issues and conflicts.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into grievances and policy breaches to enforce company standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for employee-related concerns and inquiries.
  • Partner with HR and legal teams to ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
  • Facilitate training and workshops on employee relations best practices for managers and HR staff.
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of employee relations cases and reports.
  • Assist in the development and communication of HR policies and procedures.
  • Work alongside recruitment teams to ensure cultural fit and alignment with organizational values.
  • Monitor employee morale and devise strategies to improve engagement and retention.
  • Collaborate with management to develop initiatives that foster a positive workplace culture.
  • Lead exit interviews to gather valuable feedback to drive continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employee relations or a similar HR role.
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills are crucial for success.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated leadership and strategic thinking abilities in diverse organizational settings.
  • Experience conducting investigations, conflict resolution, and policy development.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders in high-pressure situations.
