Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sales Engineer – Maintenance Contracts – Fire Fighting Systems to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and managing maintenance contract opportunities for fire fighting systems, providing technical support to customers and internal teams, and ensuring high levels of service delivery and client satisfaction. The role requires strong selling skills, solid technical knowledge of fire fighting systems, excellent communication, and a practical problem-solving approach.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and pursue sales opportunities for maintenance contracts covering fire pumps, sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, foam systems and associated equipment.
Prepare commercial proposals, service scopes, quotations and contract documents in coordination with the commercial and technical teams.
Provide technical assessments and solution proposals during pre-sales meetings, site surveys and client presentations; translate client requirements into viable maintenance plans.
Maintain and grow relationships with clients, consultants and contractors; manage tender clarifications and negotiate terms to secure contracts.
Support service delivery by coordinating with operations, spare parts, and site teams to ensure timely mobilisation, scheduled maintenance, emergency response and quality of work.
Conduct technical inspections, identify defects and recommend remedial works; prepare detailed service reports and maintenance records.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards and local authority requirements, and advise clients on regulatory and safety matters.
Achieve sales targets and contribute to business development activities including price modelling, lifecycle cost analysis and value engineering for maintenance solutions.
Provide clear handover documentation and technical briefings to operations for contract execution and continuous improvement.
Skills & Competencies
Selling skills: Proven ability to sell service contracts and maintenance solutions, prepare commercial offers and manage client negotiations.
Technical knowledge: Strong understanding of fire fighting systems (sprinklers, pumps, hydrants, foam systems, valves and alarms) and practical experience in inspection, testing and maintenance practices.
Communication skills: Clear written and verbal communication for client-facing meetings, technical clarifications, reports and coordination across multidisciplinary teams.
Problem solving: Practical, methodical approach to diagnosing system faults, developing cost-effective remedial plans and resolving site issues under time constraints.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders, contracts and service calls while meeting deadlines.
Customer-focused attitude with attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality service.
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fire Protection, or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in sales or technical roles related to fire fighting systems and maintenance contracts, preferably within the UAE or GCC market.
Demonstrable track record of winning and managing service contracts for fire protection systems.
Familiarity with NFPA, UAE Fire and Life Safety Code and local authority requirements.
Proficient with MS Office; experience with CRM/ERP systems and basic technical drawing review (AutoCAD) is an advantage.
Valid UAE driving license and ability to travel to client sites across Sharjah and neighboring emirates.
Excellent command of English; additional languages are desirable.
