The Reservation & Revenue Manager is responsible for overseeing the Retreats reservations department and maximizing revenue through effective pricing, inventory management, and market analysis. This role involves managing room rates, monitoring occupancy trends, optimizing online booking channels, and ensuring seamless guest reservations. The Reservation & Revenue Manager works closely with the sales, marketing, and front office teams to develop strategies that drive profitability and enhance guest satisfaction.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies to maximize Retreat revenue and profitability.
- Monitor market demand, competitor pricing, and booking trends to adjust rates dynamically.
- Analyse historical data and forecast occupancy to optimize room availability and distribution.
- Collaborate with the sales and marketing team to create promotions and special offers.
- Ensure rate parity across all distribution channels, including OTAs, GDS, and direct bookings.
- Supervise the reservations team, ensuring accurate and efficient processing of bookings.
- Manage group bookings, VIP requests, and special reservations in coordination with the sales department.
- Ensure reservation policies, including cancellations, deposits, and payment terms, are followed.
- Work closely with the front desk team to ensure a seamless check-in and check-out experience.
- Oversee the Retreats presence on OTAs (Booking.com, Expedia, Agoda, etc.) and update inventory as needed.
- Manage the Company website booking engine to drive direct reservations.
- Work with digital marketing teams to enhance online visibility and improve conversion rates.
- Monitor guest reviews and feedback to enhance the online reputation of the Retreat.
- Generate daily, weekly, and monthly revenue reports to track performance.
- Analyse booking patterns, market demand, and competitor strategies to make data-driven decisions.
- Present revenue reports and forecasts to senior management for strategic planning.
- Use revenue management software and tools to optimize pricing and inventory.
- Train and mentor the reservations team on best practices, customer service, and revenue management techniques.
- Ensure smooth communication between reservations, sales, front office, and finance teams.
- Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for reservations and revenue management.
- Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and escalations professionally.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years in reservations, front office, or revenue management, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of revenue management systems (RMS) and property management systems (PMS) such as Opera, Fidelio, or Synxis.
- Familiarity with online travel agencies (OTAs) and global distribution systems (GDS).
- Proficiency in Excel, data analytics, and forecasting tools.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
- Detail-oriented with a strategic mind-set.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE:
- Office-based role with occasional meetings and strategy discussions.
- Regular work hours, but may require flexibility during peak seasons and special events.
- Fast-paced environment requiring quick decision-making and adaptability.
LAWS, REGULATIONS AND POLICIES
- Makes sure Sharjah Collection follows all applicable laws in UAE.
- Keeps track on purchasing costs of various departments to ensure maximum quality at lowest possible price.
- Makes sure that the Retreat is delivering quality guest services within departmental and SC standards and guidelines.
- Ensure that the standards required by Law and by Management are maintained at all times in the areas specified above.
HEALTH AND SAFETY
- Ensures that all potential and real hazards are reported and reduced immediately.
- Fully understands the Retreat’s fire, emergency, and bomb procedures.
- Ensures that emergency procedures are practised and enforced to provide for the security and safety of guests and employees.
- Ensures that all employees in the department work in a safe manner that does not harm or injure self or others.
- Stimulates and encourages a general awareness of health and safety in tasks and activities carried out within the department.
- Ensures the safety of the people and property within the premises by applying Retreat regulations and adhering to existing laws and regulations.
- Anticipates possible and probable hazards and conditions and either corrects them or take action to prevent them from happening.
- Ensures that the highest standards of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, appearance, body language and conduct of Retreat employees is maintained by all employees in the department.
- Responsible Business: show involvement and be interested in environmental and/or social issues by participating in Responsible Business hotel and departmental activities.
MISCELLANEOUS
- Attends meetings and training as required by the Revenue & Reservation Manager.
- Assists colleagues to perform similar or related jobs when necessary.
- Ensures guest satisfaction by attending to their requests and inquires courteously and efficiently.
- Accepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to Retreat Maintains own working area, materials and company property clean, tidy and in Continuously seeks to endeavour and improve the department’s efficient operation, and own knowledge of the job function
- Is well updated on, and possesses solid knowledge of the following:
- Retreat fire, bomb and emergency procedures
- Retreat health and safety policies and procedures
- Retreat facilities and nearby sights of interest and importance (i.e.hospitals, stations, tourist sights)
- Retreat standards of operation and departmental procedures
- Current licensing relating to own Division and Retreat
- Accepted methods of payment by the Retreat
- Short and long term Retreat and Corporate marketing and promotional programs, corporate clients and clients generating high business volume.
