Job Description

A Procurement Engineer plays a vital role in the purchasing department by ensuring that all equipment, materials, and products required for projects are procured in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This position serves as a critical liaison between project teams, vendors, and suppliers to secure the necessary components for production or construction activities. The Procurement Engineer needs to possess strong analytical skills to evaluate supplier performance, negotiate contracts, and ensure compliance with industry standards. An ideal candidate for this position is highly organized, detail-oriented, and has the capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. As a Procurement Engineer, you will be instrumental in maintaining supply chain continuity, optimizing inventory levels, and contributing to the sustainable growth of the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Source, negotiate, and procure goods and services from suppliers to meet project needs.
  • Coordinate with project teams to forecast procurement requirements and timelines.
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure long-term cooperation and reliability.
  • Develop and implement cost reduction strategies to improve procurement efficiency.
  • Prepare and manage purchase orders and contracts in accordance with company policies.
  • Resolve quality and delivery issues with suppliers to minimize project disruption.
  • Analyze market trends and supply chain risks to optimize purchasing decisions.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audits and reports.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental policies and industry standards in procurement.
  • Assist in the development and monitoring of procurement key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Provide technical support for procurement activities within the engineering department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field required.
  • Proven experience in a procurement or supply chain role in a similar industry.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in contract management preferred.
  • Excellent understanding of supply chain management processes and best practices.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with teams.
