Job Description

The Patient Admissions Manager is a pivotal role within the healthcare facility, responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective management of patient admission processes. This position requires a strong leader with exceptional organizational skills, as the Patient Admissions Manager will coordinate the daily activities associated with admitting patients into the healthcare system. This includes overseeing a team responsible for patient registration, data entry, insurance verification, and accurately maintaining patient records. The role demands close collaboration with various departments to ensure a smooth and positive experience for patients and their families during the admission process. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare administration, excellent communication skills, and a dedication to providing outstanding customer service within a medical setting.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire patient admission process efficiently and professionally.
  • Coordinate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient admissions procedures.
  • Manage a team of admissions staff, ensuring consistent productivity and performance.
  • Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of patient records and personal information.
  • Develop and implement policies to improve the admissions process continuously.
  • Train new admissions personnel on best practices and standardized procedures.
  • Collaborate with insurance companies for verification and eligibility checks.
  • Handle patient and family inquiries and complaints compassionately and effectively.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards in admissions.
  • Monitor and generate reports regarding admissions statistics and performance metrics.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and healthcare providers during the admission process.
  • Continuously assess and enhance the quality of the patient admission experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a healthcare management role.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for patient interaction.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare information systems and software applications.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations and admission procedures is essential.
