Job Description

The Patient Admissions Manager plays a pivotal role in the healthcare facility by overseeing the patient admission process to ensure efficient, accurate, and compliant handling of incoming patients. Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of the patient admissions department efficiently.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for patient admissions and registration.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, policies, and best practice standards.
  • Coordinate with medical and administrative staff to streamline patient entry processes.
  • Supervise and train admissions staff to enhance skills and department performance.
  • Address patient complaints and resolve any discrepancies in the admission process promptly.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on admissions department performance and patient flow.
  • Maintain detailed patient records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
  • Liaise with finance to verify insurance details and manage billing processes effectively.
  • Identify areas for improvement in admission procedures and implement appropriate changes.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to facilitate patient transfers and discharges efficiently.
  • Stay updated with the latest healthcare regulations and ensure the department's compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in a hospital admissions or administration role.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing a diverse team.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure effectively.
  • Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations, billing procedures, and insurance processes.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in healthcare management software and standard office applications is essential.
