Responsibilities

  • Oversee the production of baked goods, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Manage the pastry kitchen operations, including scheduling and inventory.
  • Monitor and maintain ingredient stock levels to meet production needs.
  • Order and purchase high-quality ingredients for pastry and dessert production.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the kitchen.
  • Train and supervise junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff effectively.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and incorporate new techniques as applicable.
  • Decorate pastries and desserts using modern and traditional techniques.
  • Closely scrutinize the taste and presentation of each dish served.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the pastry preparation area.
  • Collaborate with executive chefs to coordinate food service and menu offerings.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Pastry Chef or similar role in a culinary setting.
  • In-depth knowledge of baking and pastry techniques and traditions.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining quality.
  • Creative flair and a passion for culinary art and excellence.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills are essential.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Culinary school diploma or equivalent professional qualification preferred.
