JOB TITLE: OFFICER I – LOGISTICS

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate material movements in accordance to national /international regulations pertaining at the time of shipment. Provide support in determining carrier solutions and manage relationship with carrier services. Ensure fulfilment of shipping documents and perform efficient transportation, inspection, tracking and distribution of materials.

Primary Duties

  • Provide commercial support for project cargo, heavy-lift, oversized, air, sea, and road transportation activities.
  • Assist in preparing logistics cost estimates for tenders, bids, and project execution.
  • Prepare RFQs and coordinate with logistics service providers for transportation, freight forwarding, warehousing, customs clearance, and related services.
  • Review logistics quotations, commercial proposals, and cost estimates for project and operational requirements.
  • Obtain, evaluate, and compare quotations from freight forwarders, transporters, customs brokers, and other logistics service providers.
  • Conduct freight and logistics cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Support commercial negotiations with logistics service providers to secure competitive rates and favorable terms.
  • Ensure logistics costs are aligned with approved budgets, contracts, and project requirements.
  • Maintain a database of freight rates, logistics costs, and supplier commercial information.
  • Support the preparation and processing of service orders, and logistics contracts.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with agreed commercial terms, rates, and service conditions.
  • Maintain effective relationships with logistics vendors and resolve commercial discrepancies.
  • Monitor additional logistics costs arising from delays, route changes, demurrage, storage, or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Maintain records of approved logistics costs, variations, claims, and commercial correspondence.
  • Assist in preparing commercial justifications and supporting documentation for additional costs and variations.
  • Assist in monitoring project logistics expenditure against approved budgets.
  • Maintain accurate records of RFQs, quotations, approvals, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier correspondence.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing relevant commercial and financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, delegated authorities, and applicable contractual requirements.
  • Identify opportunities to improve logistics procurement and commercial processes.
  • Support the development of logistics rate agreements, cost benchmarks, and standard pricing databases.
  • Contribute to improving cost visibility, invoice accuracy, and supplier performance.
  • Promote transparency, competitiveness, and efficiency in logistics commercial activities.

Essential Qualifications And Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce or Arts with a minimum of 7 years of related experience in logistics

preferably dealing with the EPC, Oil and Gas Industry.
