Job Description

The MEP Coordinator plays a vital role in managing and coordinating mechanical, electrical, and plumbing work on construction projects. This role involves efficient and precise coordination among various stakeholders, including construction and design teams, subcontractors, and suppliers. The MEP Coordinator ensures that all MEP installations comply with project specifications, industry standards, and local regulations. The individual in this role must have a strong understanding of MEP systems and possess the ability to work collaboratively with other professionals to achieve project goals. A successful MEP Coordinator is detail-oriented, with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines. Leadership is key, as they guide project teams and communicate effectively to ensure seamless integration of MEP systems in the construction process.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with architects and engineers to establish MEP design parameters.
  • Review MEP drawings and specifications for compliance with project standards.
  • Ensure timely installation and integration of MEP services on site.
  • Oversee and manage MEP subcontractors to maintain work quality and timelines.
  • Facilitate communication between project stakeholders to resolve MEP conflicts.
  • Conduct regular inspections to verify MEP systems' adherence to plans.
  • Document and report on MEP project progress to senior management.
  • Coordinate site layout and equipment installation with construction teams.
  • Ensure that all MEP operations comply with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Collaborate with procurement teams to source MEP materials effectively.
  • Assist in the preparation of project budgets and cost estimates for MEP work.
  • Update project schedules to account for MEP-related activities and changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional experience in MEP coordination within construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of MEP systems and construction industry standards.
  • Proven ability to interpret construction plans and specifications accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative teamwork.
  • Project management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with current MEP software tools and technologies for efficient work.
