Mechanical Technician

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing mechanical systems and equipment across industrial or commercial facilities. This position requires hands-on technical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with mechanical components, machinery, and HVAC systems. The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of reading technical diagrams and manuals to execute work effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical systems and machinery.

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on equipment failures.

• Install and commission new machinery and components as per technical specifications.

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and manuals.

• Replace defective parts, align and adjust components to ensure optimal functioning.

• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve system performance.

• Maintain maintenance logs and records of all service activities.

• Ensure compliance with safety standards and preventive maintenance schedules.

• Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime.

• Assist in upgrading or retrofitting mechanical systems as required.

Requirements:

• Diploma or certificate in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.

• Minimum of 3 years’ hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance or similar role.

• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, HVAC, and industrial machinery.

• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and manuals.

• Proficiency in using hand and power tools.

• Knowledge of safety procedures and compliance standards.

• Good problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

• Physically fit and able to work in varied environments.

• Team player with effective communication skills.
