Mechanical Draftsman (225-911)

As a Mechanical Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in the engineering and design team. Your primary responsibility will be to produce detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design software, based on the specifications provided by engineers or architects. You will work closely with engineers to interpret their sketches and validate designs, modifying systems as required. This position requires a detailed understanding of engineering and construction, an analytical mind, and a keen eye for detail. You will ensure that all mechanical layouts comply with industry regulations and quality standards, making essential decisions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the equipment's design. Responsibilities

• Create detailed mechanical designs and schematics using specialized CAD software tools.
• Collaborate with engineers to capture and understand the project specifications accurately.
• Verify that all drawings comply with industry codes and standards faithfully.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of all drawings and components as needed.
• Revise drawings following engineering change notices and update accordingly.
• Liaise with manufacturing or construction teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Participate in design review meetings to offer insights and improvements.
• Translate technical information from engineer specifications into technical drafts.
• Support the procurement team by providing detailed bill of materials for projects.
• Provide input into project schedules through the estimation of drafting timelines.
• Design components and assemblies considering cost, strength, and manufacturability.
• Contribute to the development of internal design standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or diploma in Mechanical Drafting, Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, including AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Minimum of three years’ experience in mechanical drafting or a similar role.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in produced renderings.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches and translate them into precise technical drawings.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral, for report writing and collaboration.
