Job Description

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of facilities and equipment. You will work alongside the maintenance team to assist with routine inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure that all systems are running efficiently and safely. Responsibilities

  • Assist in conducting inspections and maintenance of facility equipment and systems.
  • Perform general repairs such as minor plumbing, electrical, and carpentry work.
  • Document maintenance activities and report issues in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for large repair and maintenance tasks.
  • Order and maintain inventory of necessary maintenance supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and policies.
  • Assist the maintenance team in the installation of new systems or equipment.
  • Participate in the development and execution of preventive maintenance plans.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve them effectively.
  • Support team with troubleshooting and resolving unexpected maintenance issues.
  • Maintain clean and organized workspaces and storage areas for tools and equipment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiencies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Previous experience in maintenance or a related field is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems is essential.
  • Ability to use hand and power tools effectively and safely.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal are needed.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and be on-call for emergencies.
