Job Purpose

To lead and manage the end-to-end logistics operations across the Air Arabia Group network — ensuring the timely, cost-effective, and regulatory compliant movements of aircraft parts, materials, aero engines and other heavy equipment of Airline and MRO across all hubs. The role drives logistics efficiency, compliance, and standardization with base location at Sharjah and across all Air Arabia hubs.

Key Result Responsibilities

  • Plan, execute, and oversee all inbound and outbound shipments for the AirArabia Group (UAE, Morocco, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan).
  • Ensure on time delivery of critical aircraft components, spares, consumables and materials to support maintenance & repair activities.
  • Maintain 24/7 support for AOG and urgent shipments, coordinating with procurement, aero stores, MRO and cargo operations teams.
  • Optimize routing, carrier selection including Air Arabia network COMAT option, and consolidation to minimize costs and lead time.
  • Conversant and expert in aircraft/engine recovery procedures from outstations operated by Air Arabia inclusive to an extent of hiring charter operations and strict adherence to applicable custom laws.
  • Ensure all import/export activities comply with UAE, respective hubs and international customs laws, IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, and Civil Aviation Authority requirements.
  • Manage customs clearance, re-export, ATA Carnet, and bonded shipping activities in coordination with local authorities and airport free zones.
  • Ensure proper documentation, tracking, and audit readiness for all shipments.
  • Manage relationships and contracts with freight forwarders, couriers, stores team, and customs brokers.
  • Build healthy and competitive freight forwarders network to support AirArabia time critical operations
  • Manage ad-hoc and bulk shipment requirements through most time efficient and economically viable options meeting the international customs requirements.
  • Negotiate group-wide service agreements to achieve cost efficiency and standardization.
  • Monitor and report vendor performance using defined SLAs and KPIs (e.g., transit time, delivery accuracy, documentation accuracy, cost control).
  • Managing RFP process for bulk shipments ensuring value for money and meeting strict timelines
  • Position AirArabia as a customer of choice.
  • Coordinate with maintenance stores teams to ensure efficient receipt, dispatch, and storage of aircraft spares, and consumables.
  • Support bonded shipping operations and ensure proper record-keeping for customs compliance.

Key Result Responsibilities - Continued

  • Drive improvements in shipping and packaging area layout, status visibility, and safety compliance.
  • Ensure engine and component packing as per the ATA spec 300 and IATA dangerous goods regulations
  • Ensure safety of manpower and equipment working in the warehouse. Enforce use of safety gears, where applicable.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives in transportation, packaging, and logistics service contracts.
  • Analyze logistics data to identify delays, bottlenecks, or cost inefficiencies.
  • Support automation and ERP enhancements (e.g., AMOS integration for logistics tracking).
  • Establish and monitor logistics KPIs and dashboards aligned with Group Procurement objectives e.g. TCM support, MMS support services etc.
  • Work closely with Procurement, Maintenance, Finance, and Station Operations for seamless material flow.
  • Support the setup and logistics processes for SHJ and all Air Arabia hubs and outstations.
  • Ensure consistent application of logistics procedures across all hubs.
  • Build relationship with logistics & supply chain management at all hubs within AirArabia network
  • Lead and develop a team of logistics and transport executives, officers and coordinators.
  • Conduct performance reviews, identify training needs, and build capability within the team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

People Management

  • Provides direction, coaching and guidance to team members for their career and professional development.
  • Creates a conducive working environment to build and sustain a performance driven, engaged, and committed team.
  • Ensures people management responsibilities are handled effectively in line with company procedures.

Qualifications (Academic, Training, Languages)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Aviation Management, or related field.
  • Master’s degree would be advantageous.
  • Professional certifications (e.g., IATA, CILT, CIPS) preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 15-20 years’ experience in logistics or supply chain within aviation or MRO organizations.
  • Proven experience managing multi-country logistics operations.
  • Sound knowledge of aviation materials, IATA DGR, ATA Spec 300, AOG processes, customs regulations and import duty structure, multi-modal logistics and bonded shipping management.
  • Deep understanding of aviation logistics and international freight processes.
  • Strong vendor management, negotiation, and cost control skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving ability.
  • Proficiency in AMOS.
  • Strong communication and cross-cultural coordination skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and respond effectively to AOG situations.
