Job Description

The Logistics Coordinator plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the company's supply chain. This position involves coordinating and overseeing logistics operations such as transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with carriers, suppliers, and internal departments to ensure that products are delivered on time and in good condition. This role demands efficiency and accuracy in handling logistical tasks and necessitates strong problem-solving skills to handle any issues that may arise. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and has excellent communication skills to effectively coordinate with various stakeholders to meet organizational goals.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track the movement of goods through logistic pathways.
  • Develop and maintain logistics policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Negotiate and monitor supplier and vendor contracts and performance.
  • Ensure effective and timely transportation of products by tracking shipments.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on logistics activities.
  • Work with internal teams to forecast demand and plan inventory purchases.
  • Analyze and solve logistical challenges in a cost-effective manner.
  • Communicate with suppliers and transport providers to achieve the best outcomes.
  • Monitor industry trends to identify new logistics opportunities and technologies.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with warehousing staff to optimize storage and distribution activities.
  • Evaluate logistics operations efficiency and propose strategic improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience in logistics coordination or a similar role is essential.
  • Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes and practices.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to quickly resolve logistical issues with effective problem-solving skills.
