Job Description

An Infection Control and Prevention Manager is a critical role within healthcare settings, responsible for developing and overseeing practices to prevent and control infections among patients and staff. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive infection control and prevention strategies.
  • Monitor healthcare practices and compliance with infection control standards.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential infection threats.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance infection prevention efforts.
  • Provide regular training and education to healthcare staff on infection control.
  • Investigate outbreaks and incidents related to infection spread within the facility.
  • Analyze surveillance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations and guidelines.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports and documentation for infection cases.
  • Lead the response to emerging infectious diseases and public health threats.
  • Participate in the development and review of infection control policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with external health organizations for integrated infection prevention strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Microbiology, or related healthcare field.
  • Certification in Infection Control (CIC) or eligibility to obtain certification.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in infection prevention and control roles.
  • Strong understanding of current infection control practices and guidelines.
  • Excellent analytical skills for data analysis and implementation of improvements.
  • Effective communication skills to educate staff and report findings.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management software and reporting tools.
