Job Description

We are seeking a talented and passionate Indian Cuisine Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding and appreciation for Indian flavors, spices, and cooking techniques. As an Indian Cuisine Chef, you will be responsible for designing menus that showcase the rich diversity of Indian cuisine, as well as preparing and presenting meals that cater to both traditional and modern tastes. You will work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure that each dish is prepared to perfection and meets our high standards of quality and presentation. Responsibilities

  • Design and curate an authentic Indian menu with both traditional and innovative dishes.
  • Oversee the preparation and cooking of all Indian dishes in the kitchen.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff on Indian cooking techniques.
  • Ensure that all dishes meet established standards of taste, texture, and presentation.
  • Source and select the freshest ingredients, particularly Indian spices and herbs.
  • Monitor food stock levels and place orders for ingredients as needed.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to manage workloads and kitchen operations smoothly.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations at all times.
  • Adhere to sanitation, health, and safety standards within the culinary environment.
  • Create and test new recipes that enhance the restaurant’s menu offerings.
  • Participate in menu planning, cost analysis, and inventory management activities.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and make menu adjustments accordingly.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a chef specializing in Indian cuisine.
  • In-depth knowledge of authentic Indian flavors and traditional cooking techniques.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to guide kitchen staff effectively.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with food presentation.
  • Commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety in the kitchen.
