Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative and authentic Indian menus for various dining occasions.

  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in kitchen operations.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques and methods.
  • Experiment with dishes and create new recipes focusing on Indian cuisine.
  • Maintain high food quality standards through taste tests and kitchen audits.
  • Collaborate with management for menu planning and budgeting requirements.
  • Oversee the presentation and garnishing of dishes for visual appeal.
  • Adapt recipes and cooking methods for special dietary restrictions or needs.
  • Monitor kitchen operations and address issues promptly to maintain efficiency.
  • Engage with customers occasionally to get feedback on menu items.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a chef specializing in Indian cuisine is mandatory.
  • Deep understanding of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking techniques.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage kitchen operations and staff.
  • Ability to create menus that blend traditional and modern Indian flavors.
  • Excellent leadership skills to inspire and develop kitchen teams effectively.
  • Familiarity with health and safety food regulations and standards is required.
  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure smoothly.
