Responsibilities

  • Design and plan menus that showcase diverse Indian culinary traditions and techniques.
  • Prepare and cook a wide range of authentic and contemporary Indian dishes.

  • Order, store, and manage ingredients and supplies to avoid wastage.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to create a cohesive and efficient work environment.
  • Train and mentor junior chefs and kitchen staff in Indian cooking techniques.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and food storage areas.
  • Keep up-to-date with food trends and adapt recipes accordingly.
  • Develop special dishes and seasonal recipes to attract a diverse clientele.
  • Interact with restaurant guests to gather feedback and improve offerings.
  • Manage portion sizes and meal presentation to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Adhere to health and safety regulations to maintain a secure kitchen environment.

Requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Chef specializing in Indian Cuisine.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and cooking methods.
  • Ability to create traditional and modern interpretations of Indian recipes.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills within a diverse kitchen team.
  • Proficiency in managing kitchen inventory and controlling food costs.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle pressure effectively.
  • Culinary degree or equivalent formal training in a professional kitchen.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality dishes with a focus on consistency.
