Job Description

As an HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Officer at our company, you will play a crucial role in promoting a safe and healthy working environment. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and managing risks effectively. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills who understands regulatory requirements and best practices in workplace safety and environmental management. Working closely with teams across departments, you will guide and implement safety procedures and help stimulate an organizational culture that values safety and environmental stewardship. You will routinely conduct inspections, audits, and training sessions, and develop initiatives that ensure the safety and well-being of all employees.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive health, safety, and environmental policies.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
  • Train employees on safety protocols and emergency response procedures.
  • Collaborate with management to review and update safety plans and policies.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal safety regulations.
  • Investigate workplace accidents and incidents to determine causes and corrective actions.
  • Prepare detailed reports on safety issues and incident findings for management review.
  • Monitor workplace processes to guarantee alignments with industry safety standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety through regular communications and initiatives.
  • Manage waste disposal procedures according to environmental guidelines and policies.
  • Perform risk assessments and devise strategies to control and mitigate risks.
  • Coordinate with external auditors and regulatory agencies during safety audits and inspections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health, safety, or environmental science.
  • Proven experience in an HSE role within a similar industry or field.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills coupled with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for conducting training and reporting findings.
  • Certification in occupational health safety such as NEBOSH or OSHA is preferred.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and lead HSE initiatives effectively.
