Sheikh Sultan Bin Zayed Hospital (SSBZH), part of M42, is seeking a highly skilled Specialist General Surgeon to join its multidisciplinary medical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical care, managing both elective and emergency surgical cases, and delivering high-quality, patient-centered services in accordance with international standards and best clinical practices. The Specialist will work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage patients presenting with a wide range of general surgical conditions.
• Perform elective and emergency surgical procedures within the scope of granted clinical privileges.
• Conduct pre-operative evaluations and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
• Provide post-operative care and follow-up to ensure optimal recovery and patient outcomes.
• Manage surgical emergencies and participate in the hospital's on-call coverage schedule.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and facilitate timely interventions.
• Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical documentation in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, morbidity and mortality meetings, and patient safety programs.
• Provide guidance and support to junior physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals when required.
• Ensure adherence to evidence-based clinical guidelines and international standards of surgical practice.
  
  

• MBBS, MBChB, or equivalent medical qualification.
• Completion of a recognized residency and specialty training program in General Surgery.
• Arab Board, European Board, MRCS with recognized specialist qualification, or an equivalent qualification accepted
• by the UAE Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR).
• Minimum of 3 years of post-specialization experience as a Specialist General Surgeon.
• Valid DOH License as Specialist General Surgery or eligibility to obtain one.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrated experience in managing both elective and emergency surgical cases.
• Strong clinical judgment, surgical skills, and commitment to patient safety.
