An MEP QA/QC Engineer is responsible for ensuring that all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes. The role involves monitoring construction activities, conducting inspections, preparing quality documentation, and ensuring compliance with client and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain project Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures for MEP works.
Conduct inspections of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, firefighting, and ELV installations to ensure compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
Prepare and submit Inspection Requests (IRs), Material Inspection Requests (MIRs), and quality-related documentation.
Review material submittals, method statements, and technical documents for compliance with project requirements.
Monitor site activities and identify non-conformities, ensuring corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and project teams during inspections and quality audits.
Verify testing and commissioning activities and ensure all records are properly documented.
Maintain quality records, checklists, reports, and handover documentation.
Participate in internal and external quality audits and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure compliance with relevant local regulations, international standards, and project quality requirements.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelors Degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering.
Strong knowledge of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, electrical, and ELV systems.
Familiarity with international standards, local codes, and quality management systems.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality documentation processes.
Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Attention to detail and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
Experience:
Typically 3–7 years of experience in MEP QA/QC within construction, fit-out, or infrastructure projects.
Experience in inspection, testing, commissioning, and quality documentation is preferred.
Familiarity with GCC/UAE construction standards, consultant requirements, and project quality procedures is an advantage.
