The Front Desk Agent - Chinese Speaker is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to guests and visitors as the first point of contact at our establishment. This role requires someone who is not only proficient in Mandarin and English but also possesses superior communication skills and a friendly demeanor. Working in the hospitality industry requires attention to detail, patience, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. As a Front Desk Agent, you will handle guest check-ins, manage reservations, and assist with inquiries, ensuring that our guests' experience is both pleasurable and seamless. Your bilingual capability will enhance our communication with our esteemed Chinese-speaking clientele, providing them with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.


Responsibilities

  • Welcome and confirm guest check-ins and manage any special requests or needs.
  • Utilize bilingual skills to assist Chinese-speaking guests with inquiries and problems.
  • Accurately process reservations, modifications, and cancellations via system software.
  • Handle guest check-outs, including payment processing and invoice issuance.
  • Answer phone calls promptly with appropriate greetings and assist visitors swiftly.
  • Communicate effectively with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments for guest needs.
  • Maintain lobby area in a clean, organized and welcoming condition at all times.
  • Resolve guest complaints or direct them to the appropriate department for resolution.
  • Keep track of room availability and prospective overbooking situations or concerns.
  • Assist guests with transportation or connections to local attractions or services.
  • Execute all cashiering transactions with accuracy and adherence to financial policies.
  • Promote and upsell hotel services and amenities wherever applicable to guests.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in both Mandarin and English language is mandatory for this role.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in a hotel or customer service role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Familiarity with reservation and point of sale software systems is essential.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and handle stressful situations calmly and professionally.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail are crucial.
  • Availability to work varied shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
