Job Description

The Financial Controller position is a key leadership role within the finance department, responsible for overseeing the organization's accounting and financial activities. This position requires a strategic thinker who can seamlessly manage financial operations, ensure compliance with accounting standards, and facilitate the achievement of the organization's financial objectives. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of effective financial management. This role involves interacting with senior management and stakeholders to provide financial insights and recommendations for long-term business planning. As a Financial Controller, you will play a crucial part in steering the financial health of the company, optimizing financial processes, and maintaining accurate financial records.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of financial statements in compliance with regulations.
  • Develop and implement internal control policies and procedures to ensure financial integrity.
  • Coordinate the annual budgeting process, including variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Provide financial reports and interpret financial information to managerial staff.
  • Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, and Counsel.
  • Monitor cash flow, balance sheets, and income statements for financial accuracy.
  • Lead financial audits and coordinate with external auditors for annual reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations and identify tax savings opportunities.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Lead and manage the finance team, fostering professional development and performance excellence.
  • Collaborate with upper management on strategic financial planning and investment opportunities.
  • Oversee the management of insurance coverage, cost control, and procurement processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a financial management role is required.
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Exceptional knowledge of financial forecasting and diagnosis, corporate finance, and information analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills are essential.
  • Proficient with accounting software, such as QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle Financials.
  • High level of integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
