The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at American University of Sharjah (AUS) is accepting applications for a full-time, regular faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, commencing in August 2027. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants with strong research potential in data science are encouraged to apply. A PhD in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, or Applied Mathematics is required by the start date. Applicants should demonstrate a solid and active research record, with evidence of quality publications and clear potential for sustained contributions to the field. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an active research program, supervise graduate students, secure research grants and engage in international collaborations. Experience in collaborating with industry on data science-related projects is highly desirable. Evidence of excellence in teaching across all levels of the curriculum and strong communication skills in English are required. Experience in North American-style higher education is highly desirable.

The second file should contain the candidate's curriculum vitae and the contact information of three references. These references should provide letters of recommendation commenting on the applicant's research abilities, with at least one letter addressing the applicant's teaching abilities.
