Your role will involve handling cash, credit, and debit transactions using a cash register or point of sale system. You will also be responsible for balancing the cash register at the end of each shift, maintaining the accuracy of financial documents, and providing excellent customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues in a courteous manner.

Responsibilities

• Process customer transactions using cash registers and point of sale systems.
• Ensure an accurate and balanced cash drawer at the beginning and end of shifts.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions promptly and accurately.
• Assist customers with inquiries, purchases, and locate products within the store.
• Resolve customer complaints and issues with professionalism and patience.
• Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area for efficiency and customer satisfaction.
• Verify identification and ensure legal compliance for alcohol and tobacco sales.
• Count and handle store coupons, vouchers, and gift cards accurately.
• Ensure receipt issuance for each transaction and handle return tickets properly.
• Collaborate with store staff to maintain stock levels and product displays.
• Provide exceptional customer service to enhance store reputation and loyalty.
• Adhere to all store policies and procedures to ensure smooth operations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent education required for this cashier role.
• Previous experience in a cashier or retail customer service position preferred.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude.
• Proficiency in handling cash and other payment methods efficiently.
• Strong mathematical skills for accurate financial transaction handling.
• Ability to stand and work for long periods of time during shifts.
• Strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
