Job Description

A Behavioral Therapist employs psychological techniques to facilitate positive and healthy behavioral changes in patients. They work with individuals dealing with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, phobias, and other mood disorders, often focusing on observable behaviors to help them modify and control their actions better. Responsibilities

  • Handle emergency situations and provide necessary crisis intervention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, or a related field is essential.
  • Advanced degree, such as a master's or doctoral degree, preferred.
  • State licensure as a behavioral therapist is mandatory for practice.
  • Proven experience in conducting therapy sessions and diagnostic assessments.
  • Strong understanding of cognitive behavioral therapy and related techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex ideas effectively.
  • Empathic and patient approach in dealing with clients of various backgrounds.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team of health professionals.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legal and ethical issues in clinical practice.
  • Proficiency in maintaining detailed and secure clinical documentation.
