ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF MANAGEMENT (MULTIPLE TRACKS): The Department of Management, Strategy, and Entrepreneurship (MS&E) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applicants for full-time faculty positions at the Assistant Professor rank. The department seeks candidates with strong research and teaching potential across one or more of the following areas:
- ORGANIZATIONAL BEHAVIOR (AND HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT) - Priority will be given to candidates with primary teaching and research expertise in the areas of organizational behavior, such as theories of management and organizational behavior, management and leadership development, group dynamics and team processes, conflict management, and dynamics of work in contemporary society. Ability to teach courses in the field of human resource management (e.g., people analytics, performance management, and training and development) will be considered a plus. Expertise in emerging areas, such as AI and the future of work, human-AI collaboration, AI-enabled people analytics, and the implications of AI for leadership and human resource management is particularly welcome.
- ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND INNOVATION MANAGEMENT - Priority will be given to candidates with primary teaching and research expertise in the areas of entrepreneurship, social entrepreneurship, business venture, innovation management, strategic change, market research for new ventures, strategic management of technology and innovation, small business management, and digital entrepreneurship. Expertise in teaching Project Management, as well as in emerging areas such as AI strategy, AI-enabled business models, digital transformation, technology entrepreneurship, and strategic implications of generative AI is particularly welcome.
- STRATEGY AND CORPORATE GOVERNANCE - Priority will be given to candidates with primary teaching and research expertise in the areas of strategic management and corporate governance, such as organizational policy and strategy, global strategy, international business, competitive analysis, executive compensation, ownership structures, boards of directors, strategic philanthropy, and corporate sustainability. Expertise in teaching Project Management as well as in emerging areas such as AI governance, responsible AI, AI-related corporate risk and oversight, and the ethical and strategic implications of AI for organizations is particularly welcome.
The successful candidates are expected to contribute to the department’s research, teaching and service. The salary is competitive, commensurate with experience and tax-free in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Free housing, paid utilities and other attractive benefits are provided.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS: All candidates must have a PhD in Management from an AACSB-accredited university. An ABD near completion will be considered. Candidates must show great research potential, with promising working papers ideally on track to publication in top-tier management journals. Existing publications in top-tier management journals are a plus. Successful candidates should be willing and able to teach across the curriculum at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (MBA and PhD).
