Job Description

As an Assistant Boiler Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the operation, maintenance, and repair of boiler systems. Working under the supervision of senior technicians, you will assist in ensuring the efficient functioning of boilers, including steam, gas, and hot water units. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to safety. Your role will involve both routine monitoring and emergency troubleshooting to prevent system failures, thereby maximizing productivity and safety standards within the facility. You will be expected to learn and adapt to various technical protocols and work collaboratively in a team environment to achieve organizational goals.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the monitoring and maintenance of boiler systems for optimal operation.
  • Support senior technicians during preventive maintenance and repair work on boilers.
  • Conduct routine inspections of boiler equipment to ensure safety compliance.
  • Help in troubleshooting boiler malfunctions and implement corrective actions under supervision.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and report any irregularities.
  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on boiler system technologies.
  • Assist in the cleaning and replacement of boiler components as necessary.
  • Ensure that the work area is kept clean and free of safety hazards at all times.
  • Service supplementary equipment such as valves, pumps, and compressors as needed.
  • Contribute to the preparation and execution of boiler system shutdowns and startups.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding project statuses.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures associated with boiler operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
  • Basic understanding of boiler systems and mechanical operations preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective teamwork.
  • Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and weekends when required.
