Job Description

The Accounts Supervisor is a key player within our finance department, responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, ensuring compliance with company policies, and facilitating efficient financial management. This role demands a high level of expertise in accounting principles, along with exceptional leadership skills to manage a team of accountants effectively. The Accounts Supervisor will also act as a liaison between the finance department and other departments, requiring excellent communication skills. Their role involves not only ensuring accurate financial reporting but also analyzing financial data to aid in decision-making. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate the daily accounting activities to ensure efficient financial operations.
  • Manage and support a team of accountants, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Coordinate end-of-month closing procedures and prepare financial reports for management.
  • Maintain appropriate internal control protocols and ensure adherence to financial policies.
  • Liaise with other departments to provide financial insights and recommendations.
  • Monitor and report on financial performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist in budgeting processes and financial forecasting activities for the company.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal tax laws and regulations.
  • Oversee accounts payable and receivable functions to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Perform financial analysis and reporting to support leadership in strategic decisions.
  • Address any discrepancies or financial challenges that arise, ensuring timely solutions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is essential.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance is required.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing a team of accountants.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks or SAP is mandatory.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a detail-oriented approach to financial tasks.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles, and best practices.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize work, and meet tight reporting deadlines.
  • Certification such as CPA or CMA is highly desirable but not required.
