Carpenter Job Description
- Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made of wood and other materials
- Measure, cut, and shape materials using hand tools and power tools
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and building plans
- Install framing, flooring, doors, windows, cabinets, and trim
- Build frameworks such as walls, stairways, and partitions
- Inspect and replace damaged structures or fixtures
- Follow building codes and safety standards
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
