Job Description

A Security Officer plays a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of premises, personnel, and assets. These professionals are responsible for implementing security measures, responding to emergencies, and ensuring an environment free from threats. The role demands constant vigilance, quick response to incidents, and the ability to communicate effectively with team members and the public. Security Officers must be adept in using surveillance technology and collaborating with law enforcement when necessary. It requires adhering to protocols and procedures to prevent unlawful activities. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of the premises to ensure safety and security.
  • Monitor surveillance equipment to identify and address suspicious activities.
  • Respond promptly to alarms and after-hours security concerns or disturbances.
  • Control and monitor access to property entrances and restricted areas.
  • Provide detailed written reports on daily activities, incidents, and irregularities.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement and emergency personnel when necessary.
  • Identify potential security threats and implement preventative measures.
  • Ensure that all security equipment is functioning correctly and report failures.
  • Assist in managing crowds and directing individuals during emergencies.
  • Provide customer service to guests and staff while ensuring their safety.
  • Enforce laws, rules, and protocols designed to maintain peace and order.
  • Participate in training sessions to continuously update security skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; certification in security management preferred.
  • Excellent knowledge of public safety and security protocols and procedures.
  • Strong observational and decision-making skills under high-pressure situations.
  • Proficiency in using surveillance systems and security technology effectively.
  • Physical stamina to conduct regular patrolling and respond to emergencies.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
