Job Description
The Receiving Clerk is responsible for managing the hotel's goods receiving process, ensuring all deliveries are accurately inspected, recorded, and distributed in accordance with the hotel's purchasing, procurement, and financial procedures.
Responsibilities
Here's what you'll do during a typical day:
- Manage goods receiving: Receive, inspect, and verify all incoming goods against purchase orders and delivery documents to ensure quantity, quality, and company standards are met.
- Maintain accurate receiving records: Record all received goods promptly and accurately, ensuring timely distribution to the appropriate hotel departments.
- Control inventory movement: Ensure all goods, materials, and equipment leaving the hotel are properly documented, approved, and accounted for.
- Support Accounts Payable operations: Maintain receiving documentation and assist the Accounts Payable/Order to Procure (OTP) team with invoice matching and delivery reconciliation.
- Coordinate with suppliers and departments: Work closely with suppliers and internal teams to resolve delivery discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods, or quality issues.
- Ensure compliance with procurement standards: Follow all company purchasing, procurement, finance, inventory control, and receiving procedures to maintain operational accuracy and compliance.
- Collaborate across departments: Partner with the Finance team and hotel departments to support efficient daily operations and ensure seamless service delivery.
- Support continuous improvement: Participate in finance training and development programs and assist with other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the Finance and Procurement function.

The Following Capabilities And Qualifications Would Be Advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating professionalism and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Flexibility to adapt to a variety of work situations and operational needs.
- Previous experience in receiving or stock control is preferred, along with a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
