Portfolio Manager

Job Summary / Main Purpose

To Oversee and manage specific therapy area and brands in term of development, marketing on operational and strategic sides on Corporate Level.

She/He will be focusing on growing and achieving the business plans in terms of sales, revenue and profitability through effective planning and strategizing basis of the product per portfolio and its performance.

She/He will build strong relationships with key regional opinion leaders across all markets and should be travelling overseas for training, coaching on strategy, and ensure implementation in coordination with local marketing and commercial teams.

The Portfolio Manager acts and is sought out as a product expert resource to provide guidance and instruction to sales team.

• Manage the entire portfolio of product life cycle from strategic planning to major tactical activities to achieve qualitative and quantitative objectives.
• The Portfolio Manager will ensure the product progress through the product lifecycle from initial design concept through operationalization.
• Monitoring and controlling marketing expenditure within budget allocation, and its reflection on countries as well as overall Brand and portfolio P&L.
• Liaison and work closely with Operations and Business Development to deliver new product offerings and improve those currently in service.
• Coordinate and build strong working relations with various internal departments as; Medical, Finance, Supply Chain, R&D, Sales, Regulatory, …etc.
• Initiate the registration of products in all countries, proposing forecasts, prices and market shares, and coordinate all relevant tasks to assure product registration
• Prepare all launch activities in different markets and follow up all the pre-requisites for the launch.
• Assist countries in identifying KOLs and create corporate channels to create long term partnerships and alliance with them.
• Develop promotional campaigns and follow up their implementation and reflection on sales.
• Specify market requirements for current and future products by conducting market research supported by on-going Field visits to Markets in various countries
• Assist Country Managers, local product managers, Marketing Coordinators in preparing cycle plans by developing messages platforms, target specialties, and indications.
• Provide the background product training and competitors analysis as well as differentiation strategies to the field force.
• For Team Development of knowledge and skill, you must make good use of publications, case studies, referring Scientific journals and clinical studies etc to develop and serve the new campaigns of the assigned products.
• Make use of all available resources to update the knowledge of the Portfolio and train MIOs on a regular basis
  
  

• Identifies marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
• Improves product marketability and profitability and market share by researching, identifying, and capitalizing on market opportunities; improving product packaging; coordinating new product development.
• Support teams on the ground with all strategies & tools necessaries for the success of the products.
• Follow up global product performance and diagnose and solve any deviation
• Organize/Participate in local, regional and international symposia and conferences.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

• Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy / Biology/Medicine) and Master’s Degree in Business / Marketing Management is highly preferred
• Have a minimum of 6-8 years’ experience in marketing primarily from Pharmaceuticals or FMCG Industry
• Broad Marketing Experience and therapy specific market knowledge in AFME region is must
• Digital Marketing experience is a plus!.
• 20% of the job will require traveling.
• Knowledge in strategic and business planning will be an advantage.
• Experience working with matrixed, geographically distributed and functionally diverse work groups is preferred.
• Proven ability to build strong partnerships with the business, operations, technology and other key stakeholders is required.
• Experience in developing local product positioning strategies that resulted in incremental demand for product.
• Must Have at least 2-3 years of Experience in Marketing role in Specialty Therapeutic areas (CNS, Oncology or Diabetes)
