Role description: The Network Administrator will design, implement, and maintain network systems, ensuring high availability, performance, and security. They will manage Cisco equipment, wireless networks, and have strong Linux/Windows knowledge. The role requires proactive troubleshooting, resolving issues quickly to minimize downtime. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal network configurations and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Network Design & Implementation: Design, configure, and implement Cisco networking devices, including switches, routers, and firewalls, to create a reliable and scalable network infrastructure that aligns with organizational goals and requirements.
Network Management: Oversee the day-to-day operation of the network, including configuring, monitoring, and troubleshooting network devices and connections to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and uptime.
Wi-Fi Configuration & Management: Deploy, configure, and maintain wireless network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity, security, and performance across various devices and locations.
Systems Administration: Leverage in-depth knowledge of Linux and Windows environments to configure network services, monitor system performance, and apply security protocols to ensure the integrity and stability of the network.
Troubleshooting & Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve network-related issues, from routing and switching to wireless connectivity, quickly and efficiently to minimize network downtime and disruptions to operations.
Security & Compliance: Implement and manage network security policies and technologies, such as firewalls, access control lists (ACLs), VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safeguarding against external and internal threats.
Candidate Requirements:
Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a focus on managing Cisco networking equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) and wireless access points.
Technical Expertise: Proficient in configuring and managing Cisco switches, routers, and firewalls, with a solid understanding of Wi-Fi networks (configuration, security, and troubleshooting).
Operating Systems Knowledge: Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, including configuring network services, firewall settings, and performing system administration tasks.
Network Protocols: Deep understanding of network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, BGP, and OSPF.
Network Security: Familiarity with network security protocols and technologies, including VPN configurations, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Troubleshooting & Tools: Ability to diagnose and resolve network and system issues quickly, with hands-on experience using network monitoring and diagnostic tools like Wireshark, PRTG, Zabbix, Nagios, or Grafana
Shift Flexibility: Willingness to work across various shifts in a 24/7 work environment.
Fluent English skills, both verbal and written.
Nice to have:
Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Cloud Networking Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and integrating cloud-based network solutions.
