As an Housekeeping Manager, you’re not just helping oversee daily housekeeping operations – you’re spreading the light and warmth of hospitality by delivering memorable experiences that make the stay for every guest.

Responsibilities

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

Essential Functions

  • Select, train, supervise, schedule, develop, discipline, conduct performance appraisals, and counsel team members according to Hilton Worldwide policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with the Chief Engineer the repair and maintenance program as it relates to guest rooms and public areas.
  • Maintain inventory of guest rooms and housekeeping supplies including all month end inventories.
  • Purchase all basic cleaning supplies, linen, and equipment in line with OPEX and CAPEX budgets.
  • Monitor payroll hours and reports and complete reports (ie, forecasts, annual budgets, plans and action, etc.)
  • Ensure property operation meets internal audit standards.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics that inspire team members to meet and exceed standards, and promote team member empowerment.
  • Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for housekeeping staff to enhance skills and performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including OSHA and hotel policies
  • Respond to guest inquiries and concerns regarding housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
  • Develop and manage the housekeeping department budget, including labor and supplies expenses.
  • Maintain high cleanliness standards throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
  • Manage housekeeping supplies, including ordering, stocking, and controlling inventory levels.
  • Supervise housekeeping staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation.
  • Compliance with all Waldorf Astoria, Forbes and RAKTDA standards
  • Reporting to Director of Rooms or as advised by Senior Management.
  • Responsible for hotel flower setup, tracking and quality control.
  • Handling of 3rd party companies to ensure highest quality standards for the property and guests (e.g. marble, upholstery, window cleaning, pest control, external laundry, public area scent).
  • Ability to use company provided systems (OnQ PMS, Perfect room, Synergy, Microsoft Office)
  • Assist with hotel projects as assigned

Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

Qualifications

What It Takes to Make the Stay

The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Two-Three years prior housekeeping management experience, preferably in a luxury resort
  • Knowledge of inventories, scheduling, and productivity
  • Knowledge of laundry process and flowers/plants
  • High School math level required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and other team members
  • Read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to effectively manage time
