Lead one of the region's most established commercial explosives businesses.

Arabian Explosives (AREX) is seeking an experienced and commercially focused General Manager to lead all aspects of our business operations. Reporting to the Board, this is a critical executive leadership role responsible for driving business growth, operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and the continued development of our people, products, and customer relationships.

AREX is a leading manufacturer and supplier of commercial explosives, detonators, emulsion products, and blasting services, supporting mining, quarrying, construction, and infrastructure projects across the region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic leader with strong experience in explosives, mining, chemicals, manufacturing, or other high-hazard industrial environments to shape the future direction of the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide overall leadership and strategic direction for the AREX business.
• Develop and execute business growth, operational, and commercial strategies.
• Ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient operation of all manufacturing and operational facilities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, regulators, suppliers, shareholders, and industry stakeholders.
• Drive revenue growth, profitability, and sustainable business performance.
• Lead, develop, and motivate a multi-disciplinary leadership team.
• Ensure full compliance with all explosives, environmental, health, safety, security, and transport regulations.
• Identify and deliver opportunities for operational improvement, innovation, and expansion.
• Oversee capital projects, investments, and business development initiatives.
• Foster a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
  
  

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Mining, Chemistry, Business, or a related discipline.
• Extensive senior leadership experience within explosives, mining, quarrying, chemicals, manufacturing, or other high-hazard industries.
• Strong commercial and financial management capability with responsibility for P&L performance.
• Demonstrated success leading complex operational businesses and delivering growth.
• Strong understanding of safety management, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and drive organisational performance.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Experience working within the Middle East or other international markets would be advantageous.
