Plumbing Draftsman – Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed plumbing shop drawings for high-rise building projects.
  
• Develop sanitary drainage, soil & waste, and water supply drawings.
  
• Prepare plumbing coordination drawings and coordinate with HVAC, electrical, architectural, and structural disciplines.
  
• Prepare as-built drawings based on site requirements and approved modifications.
  
• Develop detailed layouts, sections, riser diagrams, and plumbing schematics.
  
• Ensure drawings comply with project specifications, authority requirements, and approved design documents.
  
• Review architectural and MEP drawings to identify clashes and discrepancies.
  
• Coordinate with site engineers, MEP coordinators, consultants, and subcontractors.
  
• Incorporate consultant/client comments and revise drawings accordingly.
  
• Prepare drawings using AutoCAD and, preferably, Revit MEP/BIM.
  
• Maintain proper drawing standards, revisions, and documentation.
  
• Provide technical drafting support to the site and project teams.
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, MEP, or related field preferred.
  
• 3–5+ years of experience as a Plumbing Draftsman.
  
• Proven experience in high-rise building projects is required.
  
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Sanitary drainage systems
    
  • Soil and waste systems
    
  • Water supply systems
    
  • Hot & cold water systems
    
  • Plumbing risers and schematics
    
  • Pump rooms and water tanks
    
  • Plumbing coordination drawings
    
• Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
  
• Knowledge of Revit MEP/BIM is an advantage.
  
• Ability to read and understand architectural, structural, and MEP drawings.
  
• Good knowledge of MEP coordination and clash detection.
