Engineer - Blasting

Stevin Rock is looking for an experienced Blasting Engineer to join our Drill & Blast operations in Ras Al Khaimah.

This is a hands-on engineering role for someone who understands the complete blasting cycle, from blast design and planning through to execution, performance analysis and continuous improvement.

The Role

As a Blasting Engineer, You Will

• Develop blast designs based on geological conditions and production requirements.
• Determine appropriate burden, spacing, charge and timing parameters to achieve effective fragmentation.
• Work with Survey and Drilling teams to ensure accurate blast design and hole quality.
• Supervise charging and blasting activities and ensure work is executed in accordance with approved designs.
• Monitor fragmentation, rockpile displacement, vibration and oversize performance.
• Analyse blast results and identify opportunities to improve performance and reduce cost.
• Ensure explosives are handled, stored, transported and used in accordance with operational and legal requirements.
• Maintain accurate blast records and performance information.
• Work closely with Operations, HSE, Technical Services and regulatory stakeholders.
  
  

What We’re Looking For

✅ Degree in Mining Engineering or a diploma in a blasting-related discipline

✅ 5–7 years’ blasting experience, preferably within quarrying or open-pit mining

✅ Practical blast design experience

✅ Experience with blast design software such as Expertir

✅ Experience with GPS and vibration monitoring equipment

✅ Strong knowledge of explosives safety and regulatory requirements

✅ Valid UAE Blasting Licence and explosives certification

✅ Fluent English and a valid driving licence
