Every plate has the potential to create a memory that lasts a lifetime for our guests, and to deliver this and more, we are looking for a Chef de Partie – Cold Kitchen who takes pride in presentation, respects flavour, and works to high standards from mise en place to service, supporting the Sous Chef while maintaining cleanliness, organisation, food safety, and IHG brand standards across the section
A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:
- Preparing daily mise en place and food production for the cold kitchen and supporting other sections when required
- Coordinating daily tasks with the Sous Chef and following instructions from senior kitchen leadership
- Ensuring consistent quality, correct recipes, plating standards, and proper storage and handling of raw materials
- Supervising, guiding, and training commis chefs and kitchen colleagues to maintain motivation and efficient workflows
- Taking an active role in buffet setups, special functions, and last-minute operational requirements
- Monitoring cleanliness, hygiene, stock rotation, food wastage, and cost control within the section
- Keeping your work area, equipment, refrigerators, and freezers clean, organised, and well maintained
- Communicating daily operational needs, challenges, and equipment issues to the Sous Chef while supporting a safe and compliant working environment.
What We need from you:
- The strength to lift, push and pull big objects up to 50lbs (23 kg) which can also involve bending and kneeling
- A good grasp of reading, writing and basic maths
- The flexibility to work night, weekend and holiday shifts
- Compliance with local laws on food handling and serving alcohol – you’ll need to be above the minimum age required and fluent in the local language
- Great communication – you’ll be warm, welcoming and easy to talk to
