Responsibilities

Here's what you'll do during a typical day:

Essential Functions

• Expertly prepare a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso, cappuccino, latte, and specialty drinks, adhering to established recipes and quality standards.
• Provide friendly, efficient, and personalized service to hotel guests, taking orders accurately, making recommendations, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Have a thorough understanding of the hotel's coffee menu, including available beverages, ingredients, and customization options, to assist guests with their selections.
• Operate coffee-making equipment, such as espresso machines, grinders, and milk frothers, safely and efficiently, ensuring proper maintenance and cleanliness.
• Handle cash and electronic payments accurately, process transactions promptly, and maintain an organized and secure cash register area.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the coffee preparation area, including equipment, utensils, and work surfaces, in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Monitor coffee and supplies inventory levels, restock as needed, and communicate inventory needs to management to ensure uninterrupted service.
• Collaborate with other hotel staff members, such as kitchen and dining room staff, to coordinate service and maintain a seamless guest experience.
• Proactively suggest additional menu items, promotions, or upgrades to guests to increase sales and enhance their overall experience.
• Stay updated on coffee trends, brewing techniques, and product offerings through training sessions and self-directed learning to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
• Quickly and effectively address any issues or complaints raised by guests, such as incorrect orders or equipment malfunctions, to resolve problems and maintain guest satisfaction.
  
  

Supportive Functions

In addition to performance of essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the supervisor based upon the particular requirements of the company.

• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
• Keep work area clean and organized
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor such as assisting security with disorderly guests.

• Understanding of coffee varieties and brewing methods.
• Familiarity with the hotel's coffee menu.
• Proficiency in operating coffee-making equipment.
• Knowledge of hygiene and safety standards Skill in steaming and frothing milk.
• Proficiency in creating latte art.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
