Job Purpose The Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs within the cement manufacturing plant. The role ensures compliance with company HSE standards, local regulations, and industry best practices while minimizing workplace accidents, occupational illnesses, and environmental risks.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Risk Assessment
Implement and maintain plant HSE policies, procedures, and safe work practices.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws, environmental regulations, and company
HSE requirements.
Monitor adherence to safety standards across all operational areas.
Conduct regular workplace inspections and safety audits.
Coordinate corrective actions to address identified hazards and unsafe acts.
Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments for plant activities
Accident & Incident Investigation
Investigate accidents, injuries, near misses, property damage incidents, and unsafe conditions.
Determine root causes using investigation techniques.
Prepare detailed incident reports with corrective and preventive recommendations.
Monitor timely closure of corrective actions.
Contractor Safety Management
Conduct contractor safety inductions.
Monitor contractor compliance with site HSE requirements.
Review contractor risk assessments and method statements.
Participate in contractor performance evaluations.
Safety Training & Awareness
Conduct employee and contractor safety induction training.
Organize toolbox talks and safety campaigns.
Facilitate emergency response training.
Promote safety awareness and behavioral safety programs.
Maintain training records and competency matrices.
Emergency Preparedness & Response
Assist in developing emergency response procedures.
Coordinate fire drills and evacuation exercises.
Ensure emergency equipment is adequately maintained.
Participate in emergency response and incident management activities.
Coordinate with external emergency services when required.
Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene
Monitor dust control measures throughout the plant.
Support occupational health surveillance programs.
Environmental Compliance
Support environmental monitoring activities.
Monitor waste management practices.
Assist in reducing air emissions and dust generation.
HSE Documentation & Reporting
Maintain HSE records and databases.
Prepare monthly HSE performance reports.
Qualifications / Requirements
Education
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
Experience
3-5 years' experience in Health & Safety within Cement Manufacturing, Heavy Industry, Construction, Mining, or Process Manufacturing.
Experience working in kiln, quarry, packing plant, or heavy industrial environments preferred.
