Job Description

The Head of Department (HOD) - Electrical is a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the Electrical Engineering department within an organization. Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage faculty recruitment, retention, and development programs successfully.

  • Serve as a primary liaison between the department and university administration efficiently.

  • Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the department’s educational programs.
  • Evaluate and report on departmental performance, faculty, and academic programs annually.

Requirements

  • PhD in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 10 years of teaching and research experience in electrical engineering fields.
  • Proven track record of effective leadership and management in educational settings.
  • Strong understanding of curriculum development and academic policy frameworks.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Experience in developing and maintaining external partnerships with industry stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in academia.
