Cost Controller

About the role

Food People is partnered with a manufacturing organisation in the food sector to identify a Cost Controller in Fujairah. This role is responsible for driving cost visibility and discipline across factory operations, ensuring accurate product costing, detailed variance analysis, and alignment of cost performance with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end cost monitoring, comparing actual production costs to standard and budgeted benchmarks
• Identify cost inefficiencies and unusual variances across materials, labour, utilities, and overheads
• Maintain and review bills of materials, updating standard costs for finished goods
• Analyse yields, process losses, scrap, rework and weight variances, and collaborate with operations on corrective action
• Monitor material consumption and inventory valuation, supporting stock counts and investigating discrepancies
• Support budgeting, forecasting and rolling cost assumptions with actionable insights
• Prepare regular cost, variance and profitability reports with clear recommendations
• Partner with operational teams on waste reduction, yield improvement and cost control initiatives
• Ensure costing processes comply with internal controls, audit requirements and ERP systems

Key Ingredients

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
• 4 to 7 years’ experience in cost control within a manufacturing environment, ideally food or FMCG
• CMA (US) certification is a MUST
• Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis and inventory management
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Odoo or similar
• Excellent analytical skills and high attention to detail
